Meiko Dishwasher
Meiko was originally established under the same name by the combined intelligence of a mechanical engineer and a business man in 1927. Together they created a stainless steel dishwasher, the blueprints of which would evolve and develop to create products sold in 70 countries worldwide.
Meiko’s warewashers (a label encompassing dishwashers and glasswashers respectively) service a variety of sectors, from inflight catering to local butchers and bakers; their functionality and durability, from the compact Meiko undercounter dishwasher to the industrial pass-through machine, allows for this versatility.
Nova Catering Repairs are well versed in a range of equipment brands, including the Meiko glasswasher and dishwasher range, and can offer a high quality Meiko dishwasher repair to get your kitchen back up and running.
Meiko is established in 30 countries, and manufactures across the globe, though their main production sites are in Germany, China and the United States of America.
This means their products and services are widely available, making them a popular choice in many countries.
Meiko are known for their innovations in warewashing technology, redefining how a dishwasher works with a great focus on the role of water. By emphasising the quality of water used within their dishwashers, Meiko has improved the output of their machines – allowing glasses and dishes to not only be cleaned, but polished, by soft water. Water treatment further maintains the lifespan of the dishwasher, preventing a build-up of limescale and other residues.
Meiko offers a variety of water treatments that can be purchased as an add-on or integrated directly into their machines. These are as simple as water softening, where hardening minerals in the water are replaced; full or partial demineralisation, where hardening minerals are replaced without leaving a residue, as in water softening treatments; or as complex and ground-breaking concepts as reverse osmosis.
Meiko leads the way for creating reverse osmosis in dishwashers, which produces almost completely pure water. During reverse osmosis, pressure pushes water through a membrane, which catches any peripheral substances, and allows the water which passes through it to be of much purer quality.
Meiko provides Operating Instructions available for download on their website, which includes error messages and troubleshooting common to your specific product; just select your model of warewasher and “Operating Instructions” under the Downloads section of their website.
Common troubleshooting and commercial dishwasher faults include: no power to the dishwasher, or dishwasher will not start – you should check the electrical socket or the fuse in the plug of dishwasher to ensure they are not causing the problem, and that the dishwasher door is securely closed (the dishwasher will not start if it’s not).
If you find your dishwasher is not producing a clean wash, this could be caused by the spray arms being blocked or damaged, the filter needing a clean (this can also cause the dishwasher to smell), or low water pressure in your machine not creating enough pressure during the rinse cycle to clean the tableware inside. Additionally, there may be a problem with the detergent pump, so your dishes may not be getting thoroughly cleaned.
If your dishwasher is leaking, you should check that the seal around the door of your dishwasher has not perished; if this does not look to be the problem, it may be something more complex like your dishwasher pipes being kinked or broken.
